Jen’s TV Jem - Crazy Good “American Idol” Contestants
I know what you’re thinking, who gives a flying fudge about American Idol, it’s boring, it hasn’t been the same, I hate it, yady yada.
Yes the show isn’t the same as it used to be especially now that Nicki Minaj is on it (I miss J.Lo terribly) & no I’m not being a hater, just being honest. It’s a little annoying when all Nicki critiques so much on their looks & not too much on their singing abilities. I will say her opinions are very passionate but is she really good at spotting a star? You should’ve seen some of the people she said would be superstars *side eye*. But either way, I’m still a huge fan of singing competitions and will continue watching it and this is why.
Last week one of the contestants, Candice Glover, who’s vying for a finalist spot (which she made on Thursday) sung her own rendition of John Legend’s “Ordinary People” & let me tell youuuuu, I rewinded her performance like 10x on my DVR. It was just smooth, so melodic & so dope. I need her version on my music player & available on iTunes for download ASAP, yep it was that good. The video is above so check it out!
And while we’re speaking of amazing voices on Idol, a former contestant, Jessica Sanchez’s voice was other worldly.
You may have seen me tweeting (@DependonJen) about her all the time during last season but if not take notice now! Jessica was on the final show but ended up losing. If it were up to me, she would’ve won. Her voice is undeniable! I don’t know what America was thinking not voting for her! The girl is only 16 years old, could fit in your pocket& has a voice like this!

This show right here gave me life!
From the mystery, to the imaginary “Ghostwriter”, I always wished that happened to me lol. I wish I had someone who magically talked back to me on the computer. If you have no idea what I’m talking about or think I’m insane, I suggest you watch this episode.
I thought the cast was so cool too, especially because the Asian girl on the show was Vietnamese lol okay that played a huge factor & she was dating the cutie Alex on the show who I had a major crush on.

Jen’s Fashion Jem - What To Wear For Spring
Spring is only a month away and if you’re wondering what you should wear when it’s finally here, look no further!
Bermuda shorts, pastel colors and floral prints are some staples to have in your closet this spring.
- If you’re wearing floral print tops, keep the color neutral and solid on the bottom or you’ll risk looking like your grandma’s curtains. If you’re wearing floral bottoms, make sure they’re form fitting & be sure that the top is solid or else your two prints will be fighting for attention with one another which equals fashion disaster. If they’re too loose, you’ll look like a hippie…unless you like dressing like one.
- The best footwear with this look are flats, in my opinion at least. Sandals make it look to beachy while sneakers makes the look unbalanced. Heels can work but make sure they’re not too complicated looking. Remember, the floral prints are what you’re trying to showcase nothing else. You don’t want your outfit to look too busy.
I love the Diane Von Furstenberg bermuda short look in panel 1 and 3. Play around with it!
